Report on Alchemer Surveys with Watershed
Connect your Alchemer (formerly SurveyGizmo) surveys to Watershed and monitor survey responses in real time. Evaluate learning programs using NPS scores, learner feedback surveys, and performance impact surveys. Use surveys for research to support data-driven decision-making.
Alchemer includes powerful built-in reports. But what if you want to compare your survey results with learning and performance data? Or segment and compare your survey data based on your organization’s HR structures? Bring your Alchemer survey data into Watershed to add extra dimensions to your survey data.
Watershed empowers your L&D people to make data-driven decisions with our easy-to-use dashboards and fully customizable reports. We display your data in a way that makes it easy to spot trends, enabling your employees, managers, and L&D teams to make informed decisions.
And once you’ve connected Watershed with Alchemer, you can take your L&D insights to the next level by adding other data sources. You can build a bigger picture and understand your learner behavior and program performance across your entire ecosystem.
Did you know? We import all of our Alchemer data into Watershed for enhanced analysis in our Measuring the Business Impact of Learning in 2022 report.
Get enhanced reporting on survey responses using visual dashboards.
Watershed’s customizable dashboards mean you can organize and present your survey results as you see fit. And automated data feeds mean you can keep track of your data in near real-time as respondents complete your surveys.
Visualization options to suit your needs.
With Watershed’s Report Builder, you can choose the most appropriate visualizations for each survey question.
Quickly report on results.
Use Watershed’s Activity Detail report in survey mode to quickly create a report that automatically visualizes the responses to all survey questions.

Use survey data to evaluate learning programs.
Evaluating the effectiveness of learning programs means collecting data about learners who have completed the program to see what impact it has had. For instance, you can use Alchemer surveys to collect data about:
- Learners’ opinions of the program, including NPS scores
- What people have learned from the program (e.g. use surveys as assessment quizzes)
- How learners have applied the learning in their day to day work
Alchemer can collect all this data, which you can then analyze alongside your other learning data in Watershed dashboards.
Analyze survey research data with advanced analytics.
You can use Alchemer and Watershed to conduct more substantial surveys into a particular topic. For example, we use Alchemer and Watershed to run our annual Measuring the Business Impact of Learning survey. And you might use surveys to:
- Research skill levels and learning needs as preparation for designing a new learning program.
- Gather opinions from learners on different modes of learning (e.g. video vs. eLearning vs. in person).
- Explore why a particular business goal is not being met, and what can be done to change that.
You can also use Watershed to conduct a more in-depth analysis than simply presenting question responses one at a time. For example, you can segment the responses to one question by filtering a report by the responses to another question. You can do this by combining the data from two separate Alchemer survey questions in Watershed.
For example the pie charts below both show data for the same question, but have been filtered to show responses for a particular segment of respondents, based on their answers to another question.
Segment survey responses by organizational unit for more in-depth analysis.
In addition to combining your survey data with learning data in Watershed, you can also combine it with your HRIS data—including an organizational hierarchy. This means you can:
- Compare survey responses for different parts of your organization.
- Filter reports based on HR information. For example, you can create a dashboard showing survey results by people with a particular job role.
- Use data permissions to restrict access to survey data, either based on HR roles or line management hierarchy (e.g. each manager can see data about people they manage).
How do I convince my stakeholders?
The enhanced insights you get from connecting Watershed with Alchemer allow you to continuously improve your learning programs and the quality that learners experience.
However, we know that getting buy-in from stakeholders can be challenging. That’s why we’ve put this handy guide together to get you moving:
How does Alchemer work with Watershed?
Survey data from Alchemer is sent to Watershed in real-time as respondents complete their surveys. This feeds into automatically updating reports and dashboards configured to meet your needs.
We’ll work with you to set up this connection and then configure reports for your survey. You can also combine your survey data with learning and HR data for more advanced analytics and greater insights.
What data is included?
Alchemer sends all survey data, including question responses, to Watershed. Data also includes metadata tags about the respondent’s location and device.
The integration supports all the common question types you might expect; however, there are some unsupported question types. Please check the Alchemer Learning Records Store (LRS/LMS) Integration help guide for a complete list.
While our implementation team will take care of all of the details when importing your Alchemer data into our learning record store, you may find these resources helpful:
