In a perfect world, data is always clean and there is no need to edit data once it’s in Watershed. Unfortunately, we don’t live in a perfect world.
Data inconsistencies, bugs, and changes can mean that you sometimes end up with duplicate data, and cleanup can be a huge headache. We're excited to release our new Watershed product feature, Activity & Verb Aliasing, which allows multiple identifiers to appear as one activity or verb.
What is Activity and Verb Aliasing?
Watershed’s new Activity and Verb Aliasing makes data cleanup easy by allowing you to combine multiple versions of the same activity or verb into one. Set up an Activity or Verb alias and choose separate activities or verbs to combine underneath the alias.
In the example below, there are two versions of the activity Accelerate the Sales Cycle in Watershed’s report creation tool. The two versions could cause confusion to your users and report inconsistencies.
Once a new Activity Alias is set up, the two activities are merged in Watershed’s report creation tool and only one Accelerate the Sales Cycle appears:

Aliases are flexible and can be changed or removed at any time.
