We’re excited to announce that today, November 15, 2018, Watershed has been acquired by Learning Technologies Group (LTG), an early investor in Watershed and a leader in corporate digital learning and talent management.
What does this mean for our clients?
On a day-to-day basis, it’ll be business as usual. You'll be working with the same people, in the same place, and on the same challenges.
We’ll continue to deliver the quality support, innovation, and service you’ve grown to know and love. And we’ll now have access to additional resources and capabilities to delight our valued customers (that’s you) even more.
What does this mean for us?
We'll be supported by LTG’s systems and shared services—letting us focus more of our energy on the issues you care about.
As we grow and transition during this new chapter, we’ll focus on evolving our platform to deliver greater business insights, increased functionality, and even more access to data.
What will change?
Our beloved mascot and fearless leader, Mike Rustici, has had a pretty trying year. He will step aside to take care of and focus on his health and well-being during an indefinite sabbatical.
During the transition, Watershed cofounder (and fellow xAPI creator), Tim Martin, will assume oversight responsibilities for Watershed.
What won’t change?
Our Mission & Focus: We believe this acquisition gives us the best chance to realize the vision that we share with you, our customers. We're not changing course from our current product roadmap and plan to remain an independent product under the LTG umbrella.
Our People: As we mentioned, you’ll still be working with the same people you’ve grown to know and trust.
Our story continues
Five years ago, we set out to build a learning record store that delivers on the promise of xAPI. And, with your continued trust in our team and our product, we’ve grown to be the leading provider in LRS and learning analytics products.
We still believe that learning analytics, modern learning ecosystems, and measuring business impact is the right focus for Watershed. And we fully intend to forge ahead with the exciting improvements and enhancements we’ve shared with you over the last few months.
We’ll provide more details about the logistics and timing of the transition in the coming weeks. To learn more, read the full press release and a note from our team.
